Francorchamps. The in Spa-Francorchamps, Belgium based Mühlner Motorsport Team will once again run two Porsches in the 2010 FIA 24-hours race in Spa-Francorchamps. The team will be running the 2010 GT3 Variant of the 911, the GT3 R.

One of the 911 GT3 R cars usually to be seen in the FIA European GT3 Championship will be piloted by Mühlner regulars Dr. Jürgen Häring, Taki Konstantinou and Gilles Vannelet together with the very experienced Arnaud Peyroles. Häring and Konstantinou have been driving for Mühlner Motorsport since 2008 in the ADAC GT Masters and to some extent in the FIA European GT3 Championship and have considerable experience with Porsche race cars. Vannelet won the FIA European GT3 Championship in 2007, Arnaud Peyroles in 2008. Vannelet made his debut for Mühlner Motorsport in 2007 at the Tokachi 24hrs and the quick Frenchman is now the team's standard-bearer in the FIA European GT3 Championship, where he achieved a superb 3rd place at Paul Ricard at the beginning of July.

Thus the first car has an excellent driving crew well equipped to deliver a good result at the Mühlner Teams home race.

The team is also leaving nothing to chance with the crew of the second car. With Armand Fumal (2005) and Mark Thomas (2008) the team has two of their former winners on board again. Each made a significant contribution to the Mühlner Team GT3 win in their respective year. In Jerome Thiry the team has also found a further reliable endurance race. The negotiations for the fourth seat are now in their final phase…

Mühlner Motorsport has won their class at the Spa 24hrs seven times so far. Three times they actually achieved a one-two finish (1996, 2004 and 2008). In 2010 the ambitious team, whose workshop is in the Ster industrial area, want their eighth win. As there are no GT1 cars in the race, and the GT3 cars are not much slower than the GT2 cars, a top 5 placing overall is not beyond the realms of possibility. But of course, to achieve this you not only need the best preparation and the best driving crew, you also need Lady Luck on your side.
